Introduction

A GRM is a complaint mechanism through which people and communities affected by projects and other activities may raise their concerns.

The GRM will allow for receipt of concerns, facilitate address of the concerns and inform on the status of redress.

A Grievance Redress Mechanism (GRM) is a locally based, formalized way to accept, assess, and resolve community feedback or complaints.

It is a key way to mitigate, manage, and resolve potential or realized negative impacts, as well as fulfill obligations under international human rights law and contribute to positive relations with communities and employees.

GRMs should permit a peaceful and timely resolution of problems

A grievance is an expression of concern or complaint voiced by any person who feels they have been or will be negatively impacted by someone else’s activities.

During RAP implementation process, it is inevitable that complaints will arise among the affected people

Timely and affordable redress is important in order to ensure satisfactory resettlement and completion of project
